Plukt tea (formerly 55 ladybugs) – a herbal infusion brand looked for a new packaging design to fit new markets and educate on the tradition of nordic ’tea'. In reality a new market reach required a thorough rediscovery of the brand positioning, a new name and eventually a new packaging system. The name Plūkt comes from Latvian ’to pluck/gather’ emphasising the research process and actual labour that goes into filling each box of the infusion.

Plukt tea holds a strong family heritage of biologists and meadow researchers. In addition to the expertise the physical collection of herbs involves lots of manual labour.

The identity and packaging system showcases the herbs, introduces the meadows of their origin and educates on benefits of the plants that are not that familiar in other parts of the world. The collage of herbariums, photography of the meadow and a herb name plaque imitates an aesthetic of a botanist notebook.

A coherent packaging system and an easy and relatable name has helped Plūkt not only to conquer new markets such as Australia, Canada and Japan, but to also become the number one tea choice for local coffee shops.
