Dores

Dores is a wooden building construction company that bridges tradition with outstanding manufacture practice. Together we embarked on a journey to redesign their product line, identity, catalogue and web design.

For the last 20 years Dores has been the leading company in wooden house production industry. The innovation and ambition of the team overtakes its communication practice so together we delved into matching the mind of Dores
with its visuals.

The most important part of Dores redesign was the discovery phase which allowed us to redefine the brief. From an initial request for a catalogue we invited the client to take a step forward and reinvent the language of the brand through optimised architecture, product renders, brand photography and eventually gather it in a striking catalogue that presents the true value of a lifestyle in a Dores home.

The key to the whole design process was to introduce home building as an adventure rather than a complex process that usually drags for much longer than one expects. At the same time it was important to balance ease with competency that Dores is well known for.

To elevate the render quality additional care was taken of the environment planning by sketching out first and collecting photographic reference from our own trips in the nature. Renders were done by Arturs Vaivods.

The Dores catalogue – presenting the true value of a lifestyle in Dores home. It brings together the reinvented language of the brand through optimised architecture, product renders that span through all the seasons, storytelling yet technical illustrations and brand photography.

One of the crucial factors of a good service is the team behind every part of the process. At Dores from their core founders (a father and a son) to factory personnel (a 30+ enthusiastic and precision driven individuals) it feels very family-like and with a good laugh every now and then. Jānis Klaučs photography captured the soul of Dores company — their team.

Product and factory photography takes a honest look at the process of creating Dores home log by log. (No site cleaning involved in the making of the photos, their process is immaculate!) Factory photography also allowed us to tell the story of the love for ecology and sustainability of the whole team at Dores.

Instead of spreading out resources to deliver 50+ projects on their portfolio, Dores now has 8 standardised projects that are built on unified principles to help optimise production resources.  With the refreshed brand identity it is now much easier to communicate about now products as well as produce them.
